September 1, 2021 – We are excited to announce that Blair Trudell, a corporate commercial lawyer, has joined our firm as partner. Mr. Trudell brings 14 years of experience supporting entrepreneurs, not only with their businesses but also their personal matters. Mr. Trudell and his team will lead the establishment of our presence in the Toronto market.

Joining Mr. Trudell on his move to our firm is Stephanie Hardowar, Associate and Tanoje Pryce, Law Clerk.

About Blair Trudell (Bar Call 2007):

Mr. Trudell began his career practicing commercial litigation at the law firm now known as Gowling WLG and subsequently at Cavalluzzo Hayes. In addition to his extensive legal career, Mr. Trudell is an entrepreneur at heart. In 2012, Mr. Trudell started the Canadian division of YellowKorner, a franchised network of art galleries specializing in selling fine art photography through brick and mortar retail as well as digital channels. YellowKorner now has over 60 galleries worldwide.

As CEO, CLO and Founder of YellowKorner Canada, Mr. Trudell, successfully operated all aspects of the business culminating in its sale in 2016.  During his time at YellowKorner, Mr. Trudell’s legal practice pivoted to a corporate commercial practice supporting not only his own business but the businesses of his investors. In 2016, Mr. Trudell created btl counsel (BTL) with the goal of uniting his entrepreneurial spirit and background with his legal expertise. Mr. Trudell is a business forward, solutions driven lawyer who becomes embedded in his clients’ businesses and helps them achieve their personal and business goals.

Mr. Trudell was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2007 and holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dalhousie University.

About Stephanie Hardowar (Bar Call 2020):

Ms. Hardowar has a broad corporate commercial practice where she advises a diverse range of business entities including private companies on a variety of issues such as governance, transactional, strategic, and regulatory matters.  As well, Ms. Hardowar assists entrepreneurs and start-up ventures in the management of various business considerations, including company formation and the drafting of commercial documents and agreements.

In addition, Ms. Hardowar practices in the area of real estate where she represents clients for purchases, sales, and refinances. She also assists landlords and tenants in the drafting and reviewing of commercial leasing matters. Ms. Hardowar is devoted to building her practice and helping clients complete their transactions efficiently.

Prior to joining BTL, Ms. Hardowar summered and articled with a prominent full-service law firm in Toronto.

Ms. Hardowar is a graduate of the Dual J.D. program, where she received two Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Windsor and from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. She was an active member of the community as a case worker for Community Legal Aid and interned with a family law judge in Michigan. Prior to law school, Ms. Hardowar earned her Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Toronto. Ms. Hardowar was called to the Bar in the Province of Ontario in 2020.

About Tanoje Pryce (Licensed Paralegal):

Ms. Pryce assists on all residential and commercial real estate, and regulatory and administrative investigation (including Ministry of Labour complaints) matters.  Prior to joining BTL in 2016, Tanoje worked in Criminal Law and Professional Regulation for over 10 years.
