I am a Canadian Chartered Accountant/Chartered Professional Accountant with the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta. I am also an American Certified Public Accountant with the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy. I hold a Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance from the University of Saskatchewan and I have completed level I, II, and III of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants In-Depth Tax Program. I recently held the positions of interim Chief Financial Officer and Co-Founder for a Calgary based fin-tech company and Director of Financial Reporting and Taxation for a publicly listed energy company.
I provide effective financial leadership enabling strategic foresight and I have a Big Four PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP background to problem solve and consistently drive bottom-line performance and efficiency. My areas of expertise include financial analysis & public company reporting with a focus on International Financial Reporting Standards, planning & forecasting, taxation, audit & assurance, treasury & debt management, risk management & controls, capital market transactions and organizational process re-engineering. I also held the position of Treasurer for the United Nations Calgary branch where I provided financial guidance and governance oversight for the board of directors.
In my spare time, I enjoy the Alberta mountains, playing competitive soccer, and the enthusiasm of Calgary and its people. I have a pile of books on my bedside table, but I only get to read them while on an airplane or vacationing.
